KOMATA KEEPS MINE CLOSES. (By Telegraph.—Prese Association.) Auckland, April 11. The Paeroa correspondent of one of the Auckland journals telegraphs :—The Komata, Reefs Mine-will be closed down to-morrow. All tho men, with the exception of about half a dozen, witl bo paid off. Tho mino has been working for a long time, but tho cost of production and the value of the output havo been very nearly equal, and it is probnblo that tho .mine will remain closcd for some time, unless ore of more payablo nature is obtained^ CROWN MINES, LTB. Auckland, April 11. The Now Zealand Crown Mines, Ltd., during the month of March crushed audi trcatod 1037 lons of oro for a return of bullion valued at £2647. Compared with the return for the corresponding period of last year, when 1822 tons yielded £4250. this shows a decrease of £1603. Tho total output from tho mine to date is £850,291.
