i THE JOHN SON VILLE CLUB. The first annual meeting of the Johnsonvillo Golf Club was held this week. Tlio report and balance-sheet were adopted, and members unanimously agreed that the past season had been successful beyond expectation. In face of the many applications for'membership the club decided to amend last year's' rule, which limited the membership to sixty players, and also to iucreasc the subscription in order to give - players, the advantage of. first-class greens and fairways. Officers wero elccted for tho ensuing year, and the executive committee being as follow:—Messrs. Dunbar Sloane, Buddie, Mcrryweather, Adams, Mills, Moore, Angell, and Andrews. The president's trophy (on engraved silver cleek) was presented to Mr. M. J. Ferguson. The Garrioc trophy, for tho ladies' championship, was presented to Mrs. Buddie. Tho opinion was expressed by a player from Scotland .that the Johnsonville links, with a little work and attention, would, provide one of the finest nine-hole courses he had ever played on. It was decided to make the opening day on Saturday week, April 19. . HUTT CLUB. The Hutt Golf Club's season will commence to-day with a mixed foursome competition. Other clubs havo been invited to take part and numerous entries have been received. Tli9 club_ is holding a handicap bogey competition; which is open also members of tho Wellington, Miramar, Waiwetu, and Rototawai Clubs. A handicap cup and trophy havo been presented by Mr. T. M. Wilford, tho club captain, and will be awarded respectively to tho man and lady who return the best card. The competition will bo continuous, from April 12 to October 31, and competitors may tako out a card at any time and as often. as desired. The following players have been drawn for the mixed foursome competition, but post entries will be accepted:—Wills and Miss Parsons r. l'inch and Miss lfirkcaldie; Treadwell and Miss Stevens v. Dawson and Miss Huinfrey; Mr. and Mrs. Allen v. Mrl and Mrs. Kidstonj Mirams and Airs. Kirkcaldio v. Brown and Mrs. Roso; W. Callender and Mrs. Covordale v. Wilford and Miss Foster; IPraser and Miss Welch r. Pearce and Miss G. Foster; Paton and Mrs. Hayward v. Liddle and Miss Hannah; Kirk-and Miss A. Ga.ynov v. Manning and Miss Wilson; Climio and Miss Climie v. Taylor and Miss Wheeler i Jlurphy and Mrs. Murphy v. Freeth and Mrs: Freeth; Jackson and Miss Gamble v. Bridge and Mrs. Bridge; J. E. Callender and Miss Stuart-Forbes v, Sutton and Miss Gavin. The Challenger Golf Ball is made in both Star and Bramble. Tho full sizo for easy players and hard-hitters.
