STRANGE SUGGESTION AT 'A NORTHERN INQUEST. "Suicide while asleep" was tho extrajrdinary suggestion advanced at an injuest at Doncaster recently on an engine deancr named Thrustle, aged 18, who was lound dead hanging from a bed-rail. .Ho iias described as a lino lad, standing Gft. Jin. in height. Ho was in tho best of lealth, and had 110 trouble, except that le was in tho babit of walking in. his ileep. Thrustle'a mother, in her evidence, dedared that her. son was too fond of his ifo to tako it while in his right mind. !Ie had committed tho act, she averred, vhile in a . sleeping delirium. On one iceasion, sho added, he had carried the vushstand downstairs without being conicious of what he was doing. Dr. Edge, replying to tho jury, stated hat he had-, never known a caso of siii- , ido during sleep, but he had read of ; ucli instances. They were possible, but ■ if very infrequent and uncommon occur- i encc. Ho did not think there was any imit to what a somnabulist might do.
