Me.ssrd. James Macintosh and Co. report having held .their weekly pale in their Waipoua (Masterton) yards on Wednesday, when they offered a pood yarding of sheep and cattle, well above advertised number.?, which mot with only fair competition, and consequently price* were rot as good as last week. The bulk of the entry, how* ever, was sold at the follpwing rates:— Good 4 and 5-year ewes; 12s. 6d.; s.m. ewes, Os. 6d., Bs. lid.: f.m. ewes (poor condition), ss. 6&., ss. Bd., 6s. 2d., to 7s. lOd.; 4-tooth ewes teino'U), 10s.; 13F. lambs, to 10s. 2d.: Khorn U.F. lambs, 6s. 3d. to 7s. 2d.: mixed thorn lambs. ss. Bd. lo 6s. 3d.; 2tooth cwe-s, lis.; old rams, 10s. 6d. J)airy cows, £6: store cows, £2 155.. £3: dairy heifers, £4 to £4 75.; weaners, HCs. to 275. The New Zealand Lean and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—At Hongotca on Wednesday wo had a moderate entry of slieoD sind cattle, and have to report a total clearance at ruling rates. Quotations :-Sheep: Lambs, 7.».; cull ewes, 35.; store ewes, 65.; forward ewes, 9s.
