AUCKLAND EXHIBITION. to-h Auckland, April 10. With eight months still to go to th« opening of the Exhibition, there is very little space that has cot taken up. Various districts have taken the exhibiturn project up enthusiastically, ami corn, mittees are at work in North Auckland, rsapier, Gisborne, Canterbury, and many other places, making preparations for displays. The Fijian Government has reserved 1200 square feet of space, 'ind a largo area will be occupied by the Government Departments. The total iloor space will be 82,000 feet, but the probability is that a large extension will have to be made to meet the demand. It is the intention of the authorities to classify the oxhiibts. Ail boot manufacturers, lor < instance, will be grouped together, and the same method will be adopted with regard to other manufactures. LAUNCH WASHED ASHORE, Hastings, April 10. The motor launch Irene was washed ashore at Gisborne to-day. It is owned by Mr. Norman Wellwood of Hastings. The defendant contended that the saloons were distinctly separate, and the employees iii each shop wore exclusively employed in either sliop. Mr. Payne submitted that defendant carried on business in two shops, and, by reason of that fact, had two journeymen , ( besides himself in each shop, and, if he hail-five journeymen in his business he \Vas .entitled..to. havo apprentices.
