ARMED THIEVES.
<■ MELBOURNE CONSTABLE SERIOUSLY WOUNDED, By TeleErabh-PreM Association—OoDrriirht (Rec. April: 10, 9 p.m.) , Melbourne, April 10. Early this morning a passer-by noticed two men leave the premises of Mr, Massey, a chemist at Parkville, and informed iv couple of police, who separated, and made a search. One of the policemen, Constable M'Cosker, overtook the men and attempted to arrest them. One drew a revolver and shot M'Cosker through tho left wrist. The constable again attempted to grapple with the man who fired point blank and wounded M'Cosker in tho abdomen. Tho two men then bolted. Tho other constable was attracted to the spot by the shooting, and conveyed M'Cosker to the hospital, where he lies in a serious state. A drawer, from Mr. Massey's house, con-i taining £3, was found in the vicinity.
