' In this play lie-is Larry O'Daly, the son of the squire of the neighbourhood; and the bright, particular gossoon—lover of pretty Norah Doyle. Another admirer ot that lady is Captain Downs,, who, to get Larry'out of tlie'iwh'y,' steals a large sum .of . money, and' "plants" it in Larry's pocket. There 1 it-;is found, and poor Larry 'is' sent ', into " Coventry, oven his old father'believing him guilty. Norah, however, is faithful; and Larry's solitude in the hills is cheered by her sunny presence and/tho Irish pipes, until the clouds roll awayj permitting the sunshine of happiness'to gild the closing scene. Mr. Doone's! "quiet foolin'" as Larry is excellent, especially in the pretty scene outside Biddy Dolan's .cabin in the hills, where he woos and weds liis Norah. There he plays, tifnes on tho pipes and tricks on tho, priest'to' his heart's content. 'During the'iilay Miv Doono sings "The Low-Backed Car," "Dear Old Ireland," ."Where My Dear Mother Lies," and "My 'Little Lass from Erin's'lsle." AVorthy of a visit.to the Theatre Royal alone is the pleasure ;of hearing tho Harmonious Huxhams in their cowboy trio. It is tho vocal description of a cowboy horse race, ahtl by clever modulation and vigorous vocalism the effect they create is quito olcctrieal. The Stagpooles are a clever.team, and their knock-about business -is replete with humour.
