METHODISM.
Tho quarterly meeting of tlio Taranald Street Circuit was held 011 Monday evening. Tlie Rev. ,J. G. Chapman was in tho chair, and there was a ! representative attendance of officials. . A slight addition to -tho. membership of- tho church was reported during tho past quarter. The financial statement reycaled a credit bal-. anco of .£2B on the quarter and- ,£62 to tho circuit fund, which drew forth- expressions of congratulation. Tlio various departments of tho Church, viz., Sunday Schools and Endeavour Classes, were reported as being, on the whole, in a satisiactory condition. A committee was appointed to co-operate with the trustees with a view to completing a new infant class-room for tlio Aro Street Jfission. Sanction was obtained for the Cfiurcli Trustees to proceed with tlio building of a new parsonage for tho'superintendent minister. Mr. Jlrnost Kollow was-'elected a junior circuit steward for tho ensuing year, vice Mr. Ij. .T. Clark, who is leaving the Dominion for Australia. Eulogistic references were made to tho services Mr. L. J. Clark has rendered to the church in many capacities, and a motion expressing the loss the Church will sustain in h.is departure was ordered to lie recorded in tho journals of the Church, and wishing him and his family "God speed." Tho Rev. J. R. Clark," jvho has just finished his ministry of five years in Wellington, was thanked for his services, and a copy of t.ho resolution ordered to be forwarded to him. The transaction of various other business closed a successful meeting. •
