4 OLD BOYS' CLUB 'ANNUAL . . MEETING. Mr. A. Varney (general secretary) presided over tho annual meeting of the Old Boys' Club, held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms. Mr. Bruco'Mabin (the secretary) read the annual report, which showed that the past year had been tho most successful 111 tho history of the club, a result due in 110 small measure to tho whole-hearted efforts of Mr. F. C.- Atkinson, tho chairman of the club. It was with much regret that Jlr. Atkinson's resignation had bsen received, on account of his removal to Christchurch. Mr. M. Mathowson had had also been reluctantly compelled to relinquish office. Tim religious sid« of the work had received that prominence tiat its importance deserved, the weekly Bible classes having been well attended, with very,good results. Tho election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, Mr. J. C. Port; chairman, to he announced later; vice-chair-man, Mr. D. Evans; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr. ISniue Mabin; committees —Religious, Messrs. T. Spurdlo, J, Lennox, and 11. Baker; Membership, Messrs. H. Lay; M. Ilodgei-and W. Baker; Social and Games, Messrs. H. jr. Ciirr, W. Jennings, and H. Patchett; Educational, Messrs. I?. Coad, W. Allan, and R. Parton. Tho various agencies in connection with the club will soon be in operation, and young men between tho ages of 18 and 21 aro cordially invited to co-operato in making thy present session tho best the club has known. Indications all point to a splendid year's work being done. Mr. Varney, in the course of his remarks, spoke in tho highest terms of the work that had been done in tho past, and believed that they would soon liave the largest membership on record. Ho appealed to tlie membars present for thenloyal co-operation in making tho club "connt in tho lives" of the young men of Wellington. It was announced that the first concert of the season would be held at Seatonn during (lie first week of May. Votes of thanks brought a most successful meeting to a close.
