Mr. J. G. I'oynter has.sold his farm at Te lloro to -Ml'. 11. A. Brocket!' at a satisfactory figure. A largo numbsr of residents congregated at To lloro on Friday evening to bid 'farewell to Mr. ami Mrs. Coomber, the former having been transferred by the Railway Department. Songs, recitation?, etc., helped to pass a wry uijoyablo time, while dining the evening Mr. Coomber.was presented with a valuable pipe, ami .Mrs. Counikn' with a ret of carvers. A cheque for £o i>s., collected locally, has been tout to Mrs. Ciudlev, wife ot' Commandant Clodley, to go towards her cup fund fur cadets. The quarterly meeting- of the I.evinOtaki Methodist circuit, held at Manakau, was well attended. The balancesheet was reported satisfactory, tliero being credit balances at both ends of the circuit. The matter of the' purchase of a site for a church at Waikanae was left in the hands of the K-ev. Cottom, and .Messrs. l'enn and Kemp. Mr. I'. \V. Goldsmith, who represented the circuit at the recent conference, gave an interesting report an tlie work done. The Rev. 1!. G. Spcirs, who has left for Auckland! was accorded a hearty vote of (hanks l'or Iho good work rendered lo the district during his short stay, while the Rev. T. P. Jones, who has been transferred to a northern circuit, was heartily commended for the great interest lie had displayed during his five years' residence-
