Clause 2.—The wagc9 to be paid to engineers per calendar month shall bo:— Chief engineers: Under 20 n.h.p., ~£2l; from 20 to under 40 n.h.p., dC22; from 40 to under 00 n.h.p., £22 10s.; from GO to under 80 n.h.p., J223 10s.; - froin-80 to 100 n.h.p., .£23 -10s.; second engineers, <£17 10s.; third engineers, £15 10$; .' ! ' ' The above soalo does not prescribo tho number of engineers to bo carried by any steamer. Nominal Horse Power. The nominal horse power is to bo ascertained by dividing tho euin of tho squares of the diameters in inches of tho steam engine cylinders ill tho engine-room by 30. , v I'ulsomcters and accumulators shall not, however, bo included in the computation of the nominal' dioreo power. Holidays. , After twelve months' continuous service, engineers shall bo entitled in c-ach year to leavo of absonco for fourteen days on full sea pay (without victualling allowance), at such times us tho employer shall determine. 'At tho option of the employer, tho leavo of absence, may, be-post-poned in whole or in part,- and' the ■unused leave Accumulated, so that it bo not postponed beyond tho third year. After twelve months' continuous service, if an engineer resigns or is discharged for any cause other than misconduct, he shall receive payment in lieu of tliqholiday;in proportion to tlio timo of service Irom his last holiday. Victualling Allowanco. When retained in port and not found by tho ship, engineers shall bo paid at tho rate of ss. per day. While a steamer is out of commission or laid up for repairs, if tho employers retain .for fitting, or an.V other purpose, tho services if an engineer who was the last of his rating borne on tho articles in force for that steamer immediately prior to going out of commission, or being laid up for repairs, tho engineer shall bo entitled for the time actually employed, but not exceeding a period of fourteen days, to' full 'sea pay,' and also (if not. "found" by tho ship) to victualling allowance, and for any timo thereafter (if still retained) the engineer (if chief or second! shall bo entitled to full sea pay only, and (if under chief or second) shall bo entitled to not loss than tho minimum shop rates for fitters' work of the samo class m tho port. , Transit. Free transit will bo provided by tho company's steamers for families and effects of engineers of tho company. This' only applies to engineers when they are removed to suit the conditions of tlw special trade in which their steamers aro engaged. Limitation of Award. . This award shall not apply (o vessels plying within extended river limits. Tho term of the award shall b? ■ three years from April 1, 1013.
