THE "TBIUMPH" STILL ON TOP. The Christchurch-ICaikoura-and-back record still stands to the credit of Mr G. B. Brown and his full roadster "Triumph," and tho new record mndo Inst Thursday has been buried almost as soon ns it was born under t.ho crushing weight of two hours and twcnty-0110 minutes The principal features of Mr. Q. ]j] Brown's groat ride on Saturday have l»on given full publicity. On Bth February ho rodo alone. Some capital was made out of the fact that on a previous occasion ho was accompanied by auother rider, and, though tho precedent thus set lias been followed fn tho subsequent attempts upon the record by riders of machines other than tho "Triumph," J[ r . Brown decided to demonstrate his faith in "Triumph" reliability by riding alone. He rode the same full roadster threespeed "Triumph" as ho rodo when he established the record on January 17. The onlv difference in the conditions was that ho lcnew tho road. It must be remembered that this Christclmrch-Kaikourn rldo was suggested by "Triumph" competitors presumably ns a courst on which their machines had a better chanco against the "Triumph" than any other. The course evidently does suit their machino—when their machine is going well—but it quite as evidently suits the "Triumph" just as well, and a great deal better. So the result of this littlo sporting controversy lm9 been to establish tho "Triumph", a« the best "cross-country" motor-cycle, as well as tho best speed machine, tho best machine for reliability, and the best for hill-climbing. Tho latest "Triumphs" nro now to hand; prices: fixed engine. ,£7O; free engine. ,£6O; three-speed, .£B7 10s. Adams, Limited.. Christchurch. Branches, AYangaiiui, Talmcrston North.
