Bunnythorpe Weddings. In the Methodist Church, Bunnythorpe, the marriage, took place of Miss Mawi Dixon, youngest daughter of Mrs. Dixon, of "Rose Glen," and Mr. F. W. Duvie, of Southampton, England. The Rev. G. W. J. Spenco conducted the service, tho choir singing. hymns appropriate to tho occar sion, and tho church had been decorated by a number of girl friends. The bride, who was given away by her brother, llr. E. Dixon.: of Hawera, vcro cream silk ninon, trimmed with real lace, and a veil With . orange, blossoms. Miss Olivo and Miss. Elsie Dixon, of Hawera were the bridesmaids, and wore frocks of heliotrope clrarmeuse,. with gold brooches, tho gitts of tho bridegroom. Mr. A; Nicol, of Marton, was tho bast man; and Mr. 11. Dixon tho groomsman. • Mrs.. Dixon, the mother of tho bride, wore a handsome black silk dress. . A largo number of guests wero. present at" tho. wedding. Breakfast was served at the residence of Mi's. Dixon, and- tho usual toasts wero honoured. Mr. and Mrs. Davie left later for Wellington,, en routo for England, receiving before their departure mauy telegrams and cablegrams. for their future happiness, A rainbow wedding took ploco in St. X'anl's Methodist. Church, Bunnythorpe, on March 5, when Miss Esther Gordon, eldest daughter of Jlr. and Mrs. R. Gordon, was married to Mr. Fred. Dixon, fifth soil of Mrs. J. Dixon, of Bunnythorpe. Til 9 bride, who was given away by lier father, wore a gown of white silk, trimmed with beautiful lace and pearl embroideries, and a veil (embroidered by Miss Barker), fastened with clusters of orange blossoms. She carried o. bouquet of white dahlias and asparagus fern. Tho bridesmaids woro. Miss : Grace Gordon, wearing a pretty frock of salmon pink cashmere; -Miss Elsie Barker, in cream radianta; *uul Miss Edna Gordon, in a green Empire frock. Jlr. Ira Gordon was tho best man, and Messrs. Oliver Gordon and J. Dearlove tho groomsmen. After tho ceremony a. largo number of guests were entertained at , the residence of tho bride's parents, the uswil roasts being honoured. Aftornoon Tea. A small and'very pleasant tea was given by Mrs.' F. Ward at her residenoe yesterday afternoon for-Mrs.' John Ewen, of Dimediu, at' present on a visit to Wellington. Although'it is getting to the time of the J-car when flowers, are conspicuous for their absence, there was no jack of them in the rooms, alid tho table; i.i tho dining-room _ where tea_ was served 1 was charmingly arranged' with cosmeas and mauve and green' ribbons. In tho. smoking-room were vases and bowls of yellow daisies, a vivid touch of colour being added by the presence of scarlet berries.
