All Auckland "Star" representative mado inquiries at tho office of tho Auckland Registrar, and thero gathered somo interesting particulars. Tn Auckland last year the marriages by Registrar totalled 22 per cent, of tho total recorded. Tn Wellington tho figures represented slightly ovor 22 per cent., Christohurch 19 per cent., and Duncdin 18 per cent. The average for tho Dominion was 36.63 per cent, of tho total marriages for the year. Auckland's average of 22 per cent, is considerably above tho average for the Dominion. An interesting study is afforded by the following figures, representing the percentage of marriages in tho various denominations last year-.— Church of England, 25.60 per cent.; Presbyterian. 26.5-1 per cent.; Methodist, 11.17; Roman Catholic, 10.86; other denominations, 9.20; by Registrars, 16.63. Tt is suggested ' that the reason why tho Presbyterian percentage is so high is thai ministers of thai, denrnmnniion show le«? objection lo marrying people in I heir homes if it is so desired. : Woods' Great Peppermint Curs, la, (id.
