COLUMBIA CLUB. ' There was a good i attendance of members of tho Columbia Lacrosso Club at tho annual general meeting held last evening, Mr. A.' 11. Casey presiding. The annual stated that tho past season had been a fairly successful ono for the club, and six of its members had securcd representative honours' against Auckland. O'Leary; cominittoo of management, the foregoing officers (ex officio) and Messrs. L. C. I'ama, J. L. Leydon, C. G. Hodge, and W. Thomas; Selection Committoe, captain, vice-captain, and Mr. J. L.' Leydon; . delegates to Association, Messrs. A. fi. Casey and J. Quin; hon. auditor, Mr. R. J. Grant. Several liow members wore clectcd,' and thero is pvery .prospect of a successful ••season, both for the club and for' lacrcsso EQncrally in Wellington. LACROSSE FOR LADIES. Lacrosso, as a game suitable for girls, is highly recommended by physicians, and is played in many girls' colleges in England. In AVellington, also, lacrosso lias recently been successfully inaugurated at a leading girls' college, Miss Babcr's, Fitzherbcrt Terraco. Tho game has been taken up by tho pupils Willi great enthusiasm, and already thero are over fifty girls willing to play. Practices have been held under tho tuition of a local enthusiast, and great promise is being shown by tho young lady players. Another leading girls' collage, with a largo attendance roll, also proposes establishing lacrosse as a school game. Other institutions will, no doubt, follow suit, as the Canadian gamo has much to commend it as a pastime, suitable in every way for both boys' and girls' schools.
