SENIOR CADET TOURNAMENT.

i Sir,—There appeared in your issue of Wednesday last a letter from a correspondent signing*himself "Fair Play," with reference to the recent senior , cadet tournament. As to the first part of his letter, Captain Frandi, the officer, commanding the Y.M.C.A. Company, has already. 'stated that lie is of opinion.that, even' if the Wellington College team had taken part in 1 tho inarch past and nuissed display with tho others, it would not have affected the result of the route marching competition, Your correspondent, goes 011 to state that he is , unable to make out how the Wellington College Company tied with' the Y.M.C.A. Company for the Rhodes Cup. I may state that the committee which was appointed to carry out tho details of the tournament decided that the points' for tho cup should count as follow:—First place, 3 points; second place, 2 points; third place, 1 point. This is on record in the minutes of the meetings, was several times published in the press, and was. as well inserted in the jfficiaJ programme. As both the companies in question secured two wiii3 and ;wo seconds'each,'tliey gained ten points :acli, and so tied for the Champion Cup.— I am, etc., • >'«'>.'• • • -t J-. A.
