Tlie directors', report, for tho half-year ended December 31 last states:—"lt must ho borne in mind that during that period the mine lias been vigorously developed from the proceeds of the bullion won, and thomrh the balance-sheet show? a profit of £384 lCs. 9d„ there are 22 tons of concentrates at the mine' valued at £612 10s., which are to be shipped away as soon a.s there is a sufficient Quantity on hand. Taking into consideration the enormous amount 0£ development work that lias taken place, and the expense' in connection therewith, your directors have, to congratulate the shareholders on the present financial position of the company. The low level drive is now in 1985 ft. from the ;iiouth, and at 1855 ft. it was decided to nut in a and thotiph a considerable distance from whore it is limed to pick up the Sylvia reef, a reef 10ft. wide was cut, running away at van ancle too sharp to follow. This reef is in warden country, a.nd .in a new line to that of the main Sylvia, reef system, and later on, after connection with the main Sylvia reef is complete, further work will bo done on it. GOLD RETURNS. Auckland, March 31. The returns reported from various cold mines in tile Auckland district (liiriluc March amounted !n value to £62,169. Compared with February, this shows an increase of £9402.
