RIFLE SHOOTING.

KARORI RIFLE CLUB. RIFLEMAN I,OW CHAMPION. The ICarori Rifle Cluli concluded its championship matches on Saturday afternoon, with a ten-shot match, at 500 yards and 800 yards. Rifleman J. C. Loiv, who before the day's shoot held a lead of six points from.President H. Marshall, managed to maintain his lead, both marksmen putting np the same score for the afternoon. Rifleman Low's performance is a very creditable one, and his win lias, resulted from good steady shooting throughout .the season. .Although this is Low's first season as a member of tho Ivarori Club, ho has previously shot successfully as a member of the Civil Service Rifle Volunteers. President Marshall's club performances during the past four seasons are interesting to note, lie secured tho club, championship in 1!)11, after being runner-up in the previous season. Last year he was placed fifth, ami this year again holds second placo. ■ Tho following are, tho best aggregates for the championship:— Pearco Challenge Shield (held for one year), gold medal, and President H. , HANDICAP AGGREGATE. The handicap aggregate, which is fired through the same series ■ as tlio championship, is won. by Rifleman W. Chirnside, who wins outright the trophy donated by Mr. C. 0. Odlin. SECOND SERIES. The competition for the second series results in a win for Rifleman .T, C. Low, who secures Mr. L. Biundell's trophy. Mr. Owen Daly's No. 1 trophy for second place goes to Riileman J. Burns, and Mi. \V. J. Muiitfoll's. trophy for third placo is won by .Rifleman W. Chirnside. Rifleman G. Tinnej; secures fourth place, and wins Messrs. Jiuld and Randeil's trophy. The fifth and /sixth trophies,, which are reserved for competitors receiving handicaps, go to Riflemen Harris and Coker respectively, the former winning .Mr. H. Coker's trophy, and the latter Mr. Ov.;en Daly's No. 2 trophy. The best scores for tile series aro as under:—Rifleman J. C. Low, 343 points; Riileman J.'Burns, MO points; Rifleman \V. PETONE CLUB, The Petono liiilo Club lielcl tho second shoot of the third series on their range at Waiweht on Saturday afternoon, the ranges being COO and 800 yards. A bad light and tricky wind mitigated against brilliant shooting. In 'spite of these,' however; some fairly good scores were registered, Rifleman H.
