(From Ovx Special Correspondent.) « The meeting which was to have been held last night for the purpose of forming a Wednesday Rugby Football Club at Petono was postponed till next Tuesday, on account of a poor attendance. jfr. Forsyth, of Koro Koro, has definitely decided to contest tho Petono Council election. Bv way of inducing tho business people of I'etone to illuminate tlic'i- shops in the evenings, Councillor Cox has given notico to move at the next meeting of the Borough Council:—"That all tradesmen's lamps overhanging Jackson Streot lie maintained free of charge." As intimated some weeks ago, Mr. E. P. Bunny, the present Mayor of Lower lliitt, will seek re-election. In addition to numerous requests to stand again, Mr. Bunny lias received a petition from a largo section of the electors. The main roll in connection with the lower ITutfc borough is now in tho hands of the Town Clerk. Tho total number is 2700—an increaso of eight sinco last year.- Tho supplementary roll is now open. Tho provisional directors of tho Pelone Transit Company report that the sha.ro list is filling up well. It is hoped that a motor bus will bo ordered early next month.
