RESERVE FOR BOWLS?
THE MAYOR'S MOVE. I It was expected that the City Council would last evening deal with the Mayor's notice of motion regarding the leasing of a piece of land on the Town Belt at Kolburne to a bowling club. His proposal was that the land be leased not to the Kelburno Bowling Club, as lias _bee;i resolved, but to tho residents of ( Kelb.Urne, in which latter ease it would be used as a public bowling green. The Mayor submitted his motion, but Councillor Atkinson at once objected that 6ufiicient notice of it had not been given. The Mayor explained that if the meeting had been hold on the usual day. Thursday, tho motion would havo been in order. He admitted that it out of order at last night's meeting, and aa Councillor Atkinson did not withdraw his objection the' motion lapsed. Tho Mayor remarked that he would reinstate it' at the first opportunity. Councillor Atkinson was the principal objector at the la«t meeting io the proposal to alienate the ground in any way.
