CARTERTON NOTES.
The present rains have already made a difference to the feed throughout the country, and stock agents report a hardening of tho prices in most lines. There is a very poor demand for wethers, owing to the scarcity of rape and turnips. An examination of candidates in lifesaving Mill take place at the Carterton Swimming Baths on Monday next. The heavy rain on Saturday rendered it necessary to postpone, tho Parkvale day and Sunday-school picnic. Tho Belvedere milk' suppliers had arranged their annual picnic for Saturday, but the weather upset calculations. The Parkvale outing takes plaoe on Monday.
