A man named William James Webb, when returning to his home at Grey Lynn at 11.30 last night, was assaulted by tivo men, one of whom he alleges attempted to stab him, but was prevented by a passerby, wlio wrenched the knife away. Constablo Smith rescued Webb after n struggle with the assailants, who escaped. Webb was roughly handled and considerably bruised.
