A tug. rescued "her. ' Several. buildings, were unroofed. The maximum velocity of the wind was sixty miles'an hour. The storm at Newcastle was one of the' severest for . some time. There were heavy squalls of rain and hail. The Lambton Fire Station was wrecked, and several roofs of chouses torn off. The -wind velocity was '< seventy-five miles an hour. - •. .' SHIPS ASHORE. Adelaide, March 1-1. 'A violent westerly : sent two yachts ashore, which smashed the schooner Albatross, £.nd also sank her... . The French vessel General Desonis, wheat-laden, dragged her anchors and went aground.
