MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
THREE NEW CANDIDATES. ' Three new candidates havo definitely announced themselves lor the coming municipal elections in the city of Wellington Mr, W. J. Thomson, of tho firm of Thomson Bros., Ltd., has definitely decided to seek election. Mr. Thomson was a councillor from September, 1910, until April, 1911, and he unsuccessfully contested tile last by-election with Mr. Edward Tregear. Mr. T. Nojivc, another'of tho candidates, is a young man, ana ho has never before taken the field in any election id Wellington. Ho is well known us a barrister uud solicitor, formerly one of tho Crown law officers, but now associated with ,tho firm of Messrs. Brown and Dean. Some special interest attaches :to tho candidature of Mr. D. Mpriarty, known to the public of Wellington as a Labour leader.- He is an uncompromising arbitrationist, and ho holds tho view that union funds ought never to 1)0 used for political purposes. Mr. Moriarty is standing a/s an independent, and not as one of the fifteen candidates on the Labour ticket nominated at a meeting la the Trades Hall. '
