UNCLE JAMES'S KISS.

After having served the joint companies, the South-Eastern Railway and the London Chatham and Dover Railway, now known as the S.E. and C.R., Mr. George Kay, the present stationmaster of Penge, is about to retire on account of ago limit. To a "Daily, News and Leader" representative Mr.'lviijv who is'Go'years of age, related an interesting episode that took place while he v;as stationed at Adisham.

At that time the stationmasters did not wear a uniform, and ono day when a train came in he stood at tho platform door to take the passengers' tickets. A pretty young lady came up to him, and when he held out his hand for her ticket, she seized it, gave it a tight squeeze, and followed that up by giving him a hearty kiss. Mr. Kay was somewhat taken,aback, but lie managed to say: "That's all very miss, but I,want your ticket." "Oil!" replied the lady, with a blush, "aren't you Uncle James?" ' •
