( The ; Ashburton .'Agricultural''and Pus-' xornl Association's first autumn show, which is also its thirty-sixth annual exhibition, was commenced this/ morning, and officially opened by the Frinio Minister at 2 p.m: Though' the weather conditions wero dull and-threatening) the day remained fine. Tho. entries /constituted'» reoord; in the association's history, numbering 1703, as against 1011 for tho last spring show (in November, 1912). Tho sheep classes wero of - outstanding merit. There Were SCO entries ill various classes in this division, and keen competition between breeders from all over' Canterbury and North Otago. Tho four hundred ltorses penned -were also a fine lot, particularly tho draughts, i . . . ' .Ashburton, March 13. Tho Ashburton A. and P. Association's autumn show was concluded to-day in fino weather. There wero very large entries in the light sections,-and tho open hunters and leaping. events. Tho pony trotting Taces for boys and girls attracted ke-?n interest. The association's cup for tho champion hunter wa3 won by Mr. D. W. Westenra; Canterbury Agricultural Col lego-' secured most points in the slieop section; Mr. W. J. Silcock tho most points in the cattle section; and Mr. T. Taylor was most successful in tho draught horse section.
