:—♦ 'A' FRUITLESS CONFERENCE. By Telegraph—Proes Association—Copyright Sydney, March 13. At the conference of colliery proprietors in the Newcastle district-and the Employees' Federation, the proprietors • insisted on the Federation giving a monetary bond against stoppages. This the men declined. The proprietors then suggested that local agreements be allowed, but the men objected. Tho conference ended without result; The position is not bright.
