Cable advice lias l been received by the local offico of the Union Company stating that the Warritnoo cleared Sydney for Wellington direct at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Sho has 64 saloon and 94 steerage passengers on board for Now Zealand. A wireloss_ mossage received from the Warrimoo yesterday stated that she was not expected to arrive in port until 10 p.m. to-morrow. No doubt the Warrlaoo has been delayed by the prevailing bad weather on tho other sido of the Tasman Sea. TOKOMARU IN PORT. Rotorua arrived.at Cape Town at 8 a.m. on March 7, and continued her journey to Ilobart at 4 p.m. the same day. Ho went into details, and showed that so far about. £45,000 had been spent on tho harbour, but that from .€IOO,OOO to £150,0C0 was required to complete the entrance. Roberts, chief officer of t.ho Rakanoa, has come ashore on holiday 1 leave. Mr. R. A. Fvfe, chief engineer of tho Wimmera, has gone ashore at Sydney on holiday leave. Mr. W. Knox is actingchief during his absence, and tho second and bird engineers have been promoted, a step, while Mr. A. E. Kendall has joined the Wimmera as fourth engineer. Mr. W. F. Mulgan, chief engineer of tho Ngatoro, has rejoined that vessel at Wellington. Mr. V. Barrett, third engineer of the Ngatoro, signed off the vessel at Wellington yesterday. Tlio four-masted schooner. H.- D. Bendixsen is reported to have sailed from Puget Sound on December 26 with a cargo of timber for Dnnedin, and should therefore arrive hero shortly. According to a Sydney shipping paper the wheat freights are beginning to easo somewhat. Recently a steamer was chartered at 375. per ton, and it is expected others will follow at this rate. The Union steamen Kaitungata, left Port Chalmers for Newcast-lo on Sunday evening. The Tyser liner Star of Ireland is due to leave Port Chalmers for Wellington tomorrow evening. She is expected to arrive here on March 12, and .will. tako her departure for London on Starch 15. Tile mail steamer Runhino is scheduled to leave Wellington for Lyttclton this afternoon. The Government stenmer Hinemoa- left Oneliunga for Manukau Heads yesterday afternoon. She is expected to leave the n<jads for Wellington this afternoon, and is due in port to-morrow. Leaving the Bluff for Wanganui next Saturday, the F. and S. Jjino'e steamer Tyrone wili commence loading there. . She is due here on Thursday, March. 20, and leaves for Timaru and Lyttelton on March 25. Departure will bo taken from tho lastmentioned port for Avonmouth, via Las Palmas, on April 1. Passengers who intend proceding to Sydney by tho Union Company's Manuka next Friday are advised to secure (hcii f berths as early as possible. The ship's accommodation is filling up rapidly. The coastal steamer Corinna is due from tlio south to-morrow morning, and is scheduled to sail for Nelson, New Plymouth, and Oushung-a. at 5 p.m.
Arahura, s.s., arrived at Greymouth from Wellington,..via way ports, at 9 a.m. yesterday, and-left on. the return trip at 10 p.m. She was to have left Westport at 10 a.m.- to-day. On account of an accident to her hydraulic gear the Moltoia, is late coming up the coast this week. She is' due at Wellington this morning, and sails for .northern ports at 5 p.m. Bound for New Plymouth and Wellington the coastal steamer Iltiupiri left Onchunga yesterday afternoon. She is duo here to-morrow moraine, and will bo dispatched for Onehunga, via way ports, tomorrow Jevening. The Taviuni is advertised to leave Wellington for Westport and Greymouth at 4 p.m. to-morrow. The turret steamer Koromiko arrived at Wellington from Westport yesterday nv-rv-ing. She sails for Newcastle on" ThurfrV^.. From Greymouth tho collier Kaiapoi is proceeding to Sydney. On completion of discharge at the New South Wales port the vessel will be engaged in the Tasmanian trade temporarily. The s.s. Kaituna was due at Devenport, Tasmania yesterday. She proceeds thenceto Burnie, Adelaide, Edlthburg, Wallaroo, Melbourne, Timaru, Lyttelton, and finally Weltyngton. The Union collier Kamona, left Wellington for Napier last ovening. From the latter port she proceeds to Westport to load- for Wellington. The Kauri was to have left Napier for Newcastle yesterday. She loads at Newcastle for Now Zealand ports. Hound from Picton to Newcastle, the Union collier Kurow loads coal there for Lyttelton.
