Bardoux, editor of tho "Journal des Dobats," in a newspaper article, says:— "Beaten by John Bull on sea, Germany seeks revengo on land, and is expecting France, in a moment of weariness, to hold out the hand of reconciliation." This opinion recalls the Kaiser's alleged remarks to M. Etienno, Minister of War, on an unspecified' occasion, when he said he hoped to see the two countries marching hand in band. He would bring this about, he said, even if ho had to resort to rough measures.
