the "Timnirir still ox top. The ,Christchurch-Kaikoura-and-back record still stands to the credit of Mr G. B. Brown and his full roadster "Triumph," and the now record made last Thursday has been buried almost as snun as it was born under the crushing weHit of two hours and twenty-one 'minutes The principal features of Mr. 0. b! Brown's great ride on Saturday have becii given full publicity. On SI h* February he rode alone. Some capital was mrido out of the fact that on a previous occasion he was accompanied by another rider,- and, though the precedent thus set has been .followed in the subsequent attempts upon the record by riders of machines other than the "Triumnh," Mr. Browli decided to demonstrate "his I'aitli in "Triumph" reliability by fiding alone. He rode the same full roadster threespeed "Triumph" as he rode when he cstablished the record 011 January 17. The only difference in the conditions was I hat he knew the road. It must be remembered that this Christchuroh-Kaikoura ride was suggested by "Triumph" competitors presumably as n com-so on which tlieii machines had a better chance aeainst (lie "Triumph" than any other. The course evidently does suit their machine— when their machine is going well—but it rjuitc as evidently suits the "Triumph" just as well, and a great ileal better. So Ihe result of this little spot-ling controversy has been to establish the "Triumph" as til!' l>est "crnss-country" motor-cycle, as well as the best speed machine, the best machine for reliability, nud the best for hill-climbing. The latent "Triumphs" are now to hand; prices: fixed engine, .£7O; free engine. -C.SII; three-speed, JiSf Ifls. Adams. Limited., Christchnreh. Branches, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Agent?.
