ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
INJURED BY A FALL OF STOKE. (By Telegraph.—Press* AfMoolatlon.l Gisborne, March 10. A fall of stone iind papa clay a cliff on Kaiti beach caused severe injuries to a lady mid two girls passing along the beach. Hilda Howe, aged 11, received fearful injuries; the flesh of tho right leg was badly torn and the bone fractured. Ellon Howe, aged 8. was.completely buried ill the debris and badly- knocked about. Sirs. Law, an elderly lady,, sustained a severe shock and a-sprained ankle. Two others of tho party escaped. KILLED INSTANTLY. To Kuiti, March 10. Peter Lcnihan, aged 54, unmarried,- a, driver employed by N. C. Tunes, contractor, Arapo Hoad, Mas killed on Saturday afternoon. A dray loaded with lank water overturned on the side of the road through tho horses shying, ana deceased was 'pinned under a wheel and killed instantly. At the inquest a verdict of accidental death was returned. RAILWAY FATALITY. , Greymouth, March 10. Frederick Best, aged <21 years, a single man. was killed at, Dobson on Saturday night. Tie slipped and was dragged beneath tho carriages whilst boarding a train. BOATING ACCIDENT. / Gisborne, March 10. A boating mishap is reported from Kaili beach, where seven ladies and two men were thrown into the water. Campers on the beach saw a VOW Of heads Sticking above the water, find, securing a dinghy, they rescued I lie party. Several of the ladies were greatly distressed by Iho timo they were rescued.
