"DOMINION" WAYZGOOSE.
» ■■■ ■ —- Trent-ham racecourse was again chosen as the resort "for the Dominion staffs' annual "wayzgoose"—tho sixth—which . was held on Saturday. Although very'lowering at times, the weather did little more than threaten, a slight misty, rain prevailing fo? a while in tho morning. Much to the delight of the' representative attendance from all departments, the conditions in the afternoon were;more genial, and tho outing passed off most successfully. Among those present wore Mr. John Duthie (chairman of directors) and Mr. A. Blanton (manager). The catering for the gathering was most satisfactorily attended to by Mr. Shout. '■ A most varied sports programme, under .the 'supervision of Messrs. D. -Morgan, E. Potts, A. W. Dunkle.v, S. Kirby, and H.-Jenkinson, was well carried out. Messrs. A. Macintyre. and S. -.Hastall were kept .busy distributing the prizes after the dccisioii of the athletic events for the small army of' children. Messrs. R. C. Temple and J. Daniel ably coped with the secretarial duties. Tho officials were: Judges—Pedestrian events: Messrs. A. Blanton, W.,W. Todd, and A. Kinnear. Jumping: Mr. Adams. Handicappers: Messrs. N. Francis and D. Morgan. Starter.: Mr. D. Morgan. The following are th« results:— Mechanical Handicap, 75 yards—E. Potts, 6yds., 1; A. Whitelaw, scr., 2; S. Kirby, • 'Byds:, 3. Tolts won by two yards. ■ Commercial Handicap, 100 yards.—A, H. King, 1 yard, 1; R. D. Boyle, scr., 2; J. Louby, 7 yards, 3. Won by a few feet. Literary Handicap, 100 yards.—A.
