' ' Tho Marine Department has been advised that tho Government training ship Amokura left Auckland, for Wellington at 6 a.m. "on Saturday. The vessel Is expected to arriVe iij port about' Thursday next. CHANGES IN RUNNING. • In consequence of -tho mishap to the New Zealand Shipping . Co.'s Turaki'na at Rio several changes have been announced in connection with tho outward running from London to Wellington of tho Now Zealand Shipping Co.'s boats. The ltimutaka, which was to iavo loaded at New York, will now load at London, and is to leave for New Zealand on March 13. Tho Paparoa, which was to liare sailed for Auckland and 'Wellington on May 4. will take tho place of the Turakina, and will sail for Wellington, via way ports, on April 10. Tho Iluninui will take .up the Paparoa's original run. She is due at Wellington about the end of June. The Otaki is expected to leave London for Dmiodin, Lyttelton, and the Bluff on April 20, instead of April 4, as originally intended. The Orari ig to sail from London for Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Timaru on May 30. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. A. J. Barr, chief officer of the Mararoa, has been compelled to go ashore at Lyttolton on account of a serious illness. It ia probable that it will be some weeks before ho is able to Tesuino duty. Mr. V. G. Webb was relieving chief offloer of tho Mararoa for a trip, but was in turn relieved by Mr. J. Barnett, 'late acting-chief officer of tho Patcena. Mr. Geo. Watt lias signed on the'Mararoa as fifth engineer. Mr.- D. M'A]pino, third engineer of the Araliura, left that vessel at Wollinaton on Saturday. Mr. J. 0. Tho Otago Harbour Board has notified the Marihe Department that a light beacon, consisting of a • concrete baso with black tower, is being erected at low-water mark on tho reef on the western extremity of Quarantine' Island, barine N. 3deg. E., true 24ft. from the present light'. Due notification will be given when the new light is installed. Tho coastal steamer Blenheim, which has been undergoing overhaul and survey at Wellington, will be recommissioned to-day. She is scheduled to leave port for Blenheim at midnight. The Taviuni will omit the usual call at New Plymouth this trip. Tho Shaw-Savill liner Matatua Is duo at Wellington from tho south to-day. It is anticipated that dio will lie dispatched for London on Thursday, March 13. Messrs. Dalgsty and Co. have been advised that tho Mangapapa managed to get out of Karainea on Friday.
