JFINAL OF SENIOR PENNANTS. . WON BY NEWTOWN. The final games in the Senior Pennant contest, which has been going on since October last, was fought out on the Wellington Club's green on Saturday, resulting in a win for Newtown by tho narrow margin of two points. The games resulted as follows:— Newtown—Sexton, Powell, Richards, Prince (s.), 10; Victoria—Tucker, Hatch, Hemingway, Mayer is.), 21. Newtown—Phillips, Armstrong, Pollock, Price, (s.), 27;. Victoria—Martin, Vareoe, i'ossette, Snaddon (s.), 22. .Newtown—Warwick, Dull', Laughtou. Wylie (s.), 22; Victoria— I Townley, North, Ingram, Norwood (s.), 14. Newtown—Baiiey, Scott, Sexton, Brackenridge (s.), 20; Victoria—Hunt, llacmorran, Witt, Hueston (s.), 23. Totals—Newtown, 85; Victoria, 83. The games were eagerly watched by a large number of spectators. At one stage of the game Newtown was leading by about 15 on the aggregate, but by the time three of tho games were finished, and the last head of the Hueston-Bracken-ridge game was to bo played, Victoria .wanted three points to tie, and four to win. Hunt drew well for Hueston, and when the skips went down, Hueston lay two. With his first bowl tho Newtown skip was a little strong, and Hueston also over-ran the jack. Then Brackonridge drew what was just-second shot behind one of Hueston's shots. The Victorian tried to rest on his own, to bump his opponent out, but missed by inches, leaving Newtown tho winners by two points.
VICTORIA CLUB. On the Petone green on Saturday a very enjoyable game took place between the Petone Club and rinks from the Railway Department. The scores are:— Petone—P. Diamond Buckles: Pryor and Barnes (s.) from Hata.'.tai defeated Underwood (sub.) and Bland (s.), after a game that in the beginning was a runaway one for the former, but which in consequence of the holders' great recovery in tho second half had a very exciting wellplayed finish. Scores:—Pryor and Barnes (s.), 20; Underwood (sub.) and Bland Champion rink: Newtown Club will be represented in the inter-club contest on Wednesday by a rink skipped by W. Wylie. FEILDING MATCHES. ,T. Bartholomew's rink easily won the Easter Cup from R. Soltitt's rink on the Terrace End green on Saturday. Four rinks from (lie Feilding Club defeated Terrace End by a substantial margin in tiie aggregate.
