FIERY' SPEECH IN DEFENCE. By Telegraph—rress Association—Copyright (Rec. March 3, 5.5 p.m.) London, March 8. Mr. P. H. Illingivorill (Chief Liberal Whip) speaking at Manchester, denounced 1 the recent attacks on the Territorials. He declared that they wore excellently fitted for their allotted; task. "If voluntaryism wcro destroyed," ho said, "we shall be accused of aggression and the Continental Powers will pile up armaments. We shall then be summoned to reply and so the devil's dancp will continue. This attempt to stampede the country into conscription is an infamous crime against mankind, and one which the Liberals will energetically resist."
