Two assistant keener* of Eddystone Lighthouse, who should have been relieved on December 81, but were kept prisoners by a succession of gales, were on January 14 taken off with difficulty by a tug. A line thrown from a window of the lighthouse was picked up by the tup, and by this means the keepers reaehed the Boarhnund. and others took their places in the lighthouse.
