An accident was averted last evening by the promptness anil couraee of Michael Hoavev, a youns man Hominy in upjior Cuba Street. A horse l>olled from the vicinity of Hopper Street, and tnrninet tlio corner of Webb Street, continued its mild career. Two young men were walking along Webb Street at the time and oho of them heard a cry of "Stop the runaway!" Ileavey at once sprang lo the head of the animal and eventually nulled it, up. On arrival of the owner lie was heartily thanked. Messrs. Abraham -and Williams, Ltd., Queen Street, Masterton, announce, that they will hold an auction sale of 300 acres of land, lately occupied by the Into Mr. George Harris.
