. THE'PIG HUNT. (By Telegraph.—Scecial CorrcGDondcnt.) Mastcrton, March 6. Robert James Kwingtou, a married man and a resident of 31asterton, aged 35 years, was out pig shooting at Pirinoa on Tuesday with a companion named William Harding. Ivwington had shot a pig, and hud reloaded his gun. While Harding was cutting up the pig he heard a report, and heard Ewiugtou exclaim: "Bill,, l'lii shot." Harding found his comrade shockingly injured, about the lower portion of the body. He bound up the wounds, and went-for assistance. Hwington was taken to a neighbouring camp, where he died at 10.15 at night. Deceased leaves'a widow and five young children.
The body was brought to Mastorton this aftcrncon, anil an -inquest will be he'd '■hero to-morrow.
MISHAP, AT AICATARAWA. G. Harvey, a married man, residing at Akatarawa, was admitted to tho Hospital yesterday suffering from an injured hand, it appears that while chopping wood, Harvey, who is an engine-driver by.occupation, missed his aim, and almost severed one of his fingers.
