A MISUNDERSTANDING
With reference to the trouble which has originated over the musical iirogramme for the Citizens' Easter Carnival, the Mayor (Mr. D. M'Laren) stated to » Dominion* representative yesterday, that it was purely a misunderstanding. The wrong impression was gullied owing to h tentative arrangementwith respect to the order of the band performances during Carnival Week being mistaken for a fixhire. The Mayor stated that the matter of arranging the bands programme was entirely m the hands of the bands, and it was open for them to bring _ forward any suggestions whatever. Details as to the carnival music will be settled at a meeting of various bunds to be held this evening. A programme is to be drawn up that will, as far as possible, meet the convenience of the members of aS bands taking part in the carnival, • Continuing, the Mayor said that u more easy adjustment of the band arrangements will now be made as the services of the Ponsonby Boys' Drum and Fife Band have been secured. This band is to arrive in Wellington on Good Friday afternoon from Auckland,
