BICICARDS'S .COMPANY. Ample appreciation is being shown tho Itickards Vaudevillo Company at tho Opera House. Tho show :is one of tho brightest of its kind yet seen in Wellington, ovory artist king a star in his or her particular line. In her smart songs, Miss Nella Webb brings intellect and a charming personality into play to hor humour, pathos, and meaning, with a result altogether happy. De 13iero is an expert worker in modem magic, and cach trick and illusion is performed so nimbly and cleanly that the house is given 110 chanco to discover just "how they aro done." Signor Alberto Marini is an unusually good tenor of tho modern Italian school, and "Chinko" is a juggler and equilibrist of exceptional expertness. Tho last three nights of tho company are announced. ' THEATBE ROYAL. The present week's attractive programme at the Theatre lioyal was repeatod last evening, with great success. The principal attraction of tho cvoning was Mr. Fred Curran, the comedian, who sings amusing and tuneful songs. Other very good "turns" included: Austin and Gowan, the two clover comedy sKetcli artists, anu Hassan, the Indian juggler. La Franco also appeared, and produced some fascinating and novel effects under the limelight. Slavin and Thompson, patter comedians, wero very successful in their amusing act. Several very good comedy films wero shown to completo a varied and wellbalanced programme.

, HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. "Father" the principal picture this week at His Majesty's Theatre, is proving a successful attraction. Tho burning of a large ,house forms the most sensational feature of this photp-plny, and incidentally shows to what extent tho photographic art has now reached.. In several other scenes tho dramatic episodes lend themselves to good photographic acting, which makes spcoch unnecessary. Tho supporting items are also well worth seeing, and taken together with tho feature film, comprise an excellent programme.

THE NEW THEATRE. "A Dream" is the title of the latest love drama at the New Theatre. It is a human-enough story in itself, but the suicide of a misinformed lover is not particularly realistic. The Kalem film "Tho Major from Ireland" is the best of tho other items. THE KING'S THEATRE. The current programme at the King's Theatre includes several items that on a loivcr-grade programme would be featured as star items. * "The Poet and Peasant," by the Vitagraph Company, "The, Double Event," and tho latest Edison production, "Redman's Burden," aro all three exceptional pictures. The most recent Patlio Gazette, is also screened, besides several other interesting items, including an educational picture which shows how asbestos is quarried and made up for use as fireproof material. SHORTTS' THEATRE. • Messrs. Shortt are featuring, the latest Vitagraph production, "Thje French Spy," at their theatre in .Willis Street. . Miss. Edith' Storey takes tho part of tho spy, and by her admirable acting adds to' the general quality of the main theme, tho struggle between, the French ' and tho Arabs. "In Time of Peril" is the best of the supporting items. ' 'EMPRESS THEATRE. Tho last appearance is announced for to-day and to-night of tho : current pro-' gramme at the Empress, headed by "Unmasked,-" a sensational drama. Another outstanding success is tho-A.B. exclusive drama, "Pirate Gold." WELLINGTON PROFESSIONAL ■ ORCHESTRA: The Wellington Professional Orchestra will give the first concert of a series of eight at His Majesty's' Theatre,, Courtenay Place, on Sunday evening.
