THE CHAPMAN-ALEXANDER MISSION.
OPENING MEETING AT CHRISTCHURCH. (By Telegraph.—l'ress Association.) Christchurch, March 1. The Chapman-Alexander mission opened to-night ill Christchurch. There was a attendance, and the mission was welcomed to the city by the .Mayor and the Rev. Dr. Irwin, the chairman of the local committee. Dr. Chapman gave an eloquent and stirring address, in which he emphasised the objects of the mission, and '•tilted that the* party was here "to Mir up the cilv of Clirislehureh, and move the district, ami I" convert Ihoiuamh of people." Much enthusiasm was displayed. Tho mission is to last three weeks:
