A section of the crowd pelted Mrs. Drummond with clods of earth. Five thousand were nt, a meeting at Wimbledon and harassed tho speakers * with motor-horns and cries of "Duck them!" A band of youths rushed' the platform, but were overpowered by tho ■ police. There was wild confusion for half an hour. ' 1 ; ' , ■ Tho police rescued tho suffragettes. ORGAN-GRINDERS BAITED. SUFFRAGETTES ROUGHLY' HANDLED. London, March 2, A largo crowd in Shaftesbury Avenue, • chiefly recruited from Soho, attacked two suffragettes who were playing a barrelorgan on behalf of the women's funds.
