The ladies' carnival to be held at the To Aro ladies' bath this'afternoon, under tho auspices of the Swifts Swimming Club, should, judging from tho number of entries. and the enthusiasm displayed by tho ladies, bo a very successful gathering. Besides, tho school championships, thero will bo : included in tho programmo an invitation scratch race for ladies who have not previously won a chnmpionship. There aro also handicap events for both ladies and girls, a diving competition, and an obstacle race, the entries for tho lastnamed event being, it is stated, particularly good. The carnival will commenco at 2.30, and as there is a.big programmo to go through there should bo an absence j of those tiresome waits between events which arc usually e-xperioncod at 6wiin- | niing moating*.
