ONSLOW WATER SUPPLY.
The Onslow Borough Council has been considering tlio question of a water supply scheme for the Onslow Borough of late, and at a meeting of the council on Thursday night a further move in_ tho matter was made. The scheme is to supply with water all t-hoso who resido in the catchment area, which is practically the whole of tho borough, who are not already supplied. Kaiwarra township is supplied with water from the city mains. Tho council decided to submit to the ratepayers a proposal for their sanction to make a loan of .£IB,OOO for tlio purpose of carrying out the scheme. Tho scheme entails the construction of a dam, and the laying of mains, etc. If in the event of tho ratepayers not sanctioning the water supply schome, the couucil will submit in the alternative a proposal to raise .£I6OO to pay off the balanco of compensation for tho catchment land, the fencing thereof, and y legal and other expenses. A poll will be taken some time before tho municipal elections.

K Mead, Auckland, waste outlet. , Alleging* that hor hand had been ren< dered useless following t blood-poisoning causcd by a scratch received while-clean-ing in the kitchen a copper pan with a metallic cleaner (a mass of metallic strips), a Llandudno domestic servant claimed at Conway County Court compensation from her employer. In granting her 103. a week during total incapacity and 7s. Gd. a week during partial incapacity,' tho Judge said that when such nn implement had been rendered foul by kitchen work a scratch from it might well cause blood-poisoning.
