This mixed bathing: is:the outcome of a deputation from tho Thorndon ;swimimng executive .to tho City Council recently. Tho. days- and.; hours' set apart for ~sam®, wore:/ Tuesdays' j and -'.'Fridays, between ( ;2 'p.m.- and\snndown.' . From this, week the days have'been altered ; to Wedr liesdays and Saturdays, so as to .permit of, the half-holiday folk; participating - in this healthful exercise. Tho scheme is working so satisfactorily that ;it will probably have to be extended. Accommodation during the days affected- is.very scant.- revenue has-almost: doubled since, its. advent. . .The /council left ' the matter of regulations in. the; hands of the custodian (Mr. J. Calhah),- and the exercising 'of his "discretion is tho subject' of 'much..-favourable . comment,. Yesterday afternoon numbers of, husbands with their wives, brothers with their sisters, young men with their young ladies, ujero to bo seen splashing about in the foam.'
