IS IT NECESSARY? ; When speaking-' at a nleeting of swimmers hold last evening, !\lr. A. Levy referred io a natter which he had l heard discussed a good deol of lato, viz,, a lifeboat for the Lyall Bay beach. Ho said that ho had boon in conversation with soveral people who frequent: Lyall Bay, and they had expressed the opinion that a lifeboat on the 'bench' was llbsolutely necessary in the case of emergency,; The speaker added that ho v\iS impressed with the idea, and thought it a very reason-, iblc euggestioa. Ho concluded by remark- 1 in? that ho would be willing to donnto a sum of £5 towards tlw pxpenses of a boat if it was decided to,have one on the beach,
