TO-DAY'S DINNER
(Specially written for The Dominion.) THURSDAY. Mulligatawny Soup. Boiled Mutton. Caper Sauce. Potatoes. Carrots. Turnips. Bread Pudding. Stewed Fruit. Creaiu. MULLIGATAWNY SOUP. Five pints stock. 1 apple, 1 onion, juico of half lemon, l}oz. flour, lloz. curry powder, ljoz. butter or clarified fat, 1 teaspoonful- sugar, 1 dessertspoon chutney, Jib. nicely boiled rico. Prepare and cut apple aud onion roughly, mako fat hot, and fry for about 10 minutes, add ourry powder, chutney, sugar and lemon juice, fry gently 10 minutes longer, ' then sprinkle in dry flour. Also add stock (ready skimmed), stir till it boils, and .then sintmer gently for j ■ hour, rub through a sieve, return to saucepan, and reheat. Have rico nicely boilod and serve either in eoup of separately in a vegetable dish. FDR TO-MORROW. »Salfc ling, anchovy sauce, suet, apples, stock, macaroni, carrots, herbs.
