Mr. Newton King's weekly stock report is as follows:—At Toko.yards, on Monday, February 17, my pens were aU well filled with all classes of stock. On the same day, for my annual Walwakaiho fair, there was an entry of 4500 sheep. Competition was good for all classes, except two-tooth sheep and rams. A small line of well-grown woolly lambs, forward, obtained spirited competition, beine sold at the hammer at 13s. Id. Good woolly lambs realised 10b. 4d. to lis. 4d.j shorn, ss. sd. to 86.: well-bred f.m. ewes, 10s. 9d.; others, 83. 60. to 10s.; culls, ss. sd. .to 7s. 4d.; four, -six, and f.m. Hampshire Down ewea (running with rams since January), 145.; culls, Bs. 7d.; two r tooth ewes, from 13s. to 14s. Sd., and 14s. lid. for two well-gTown Romney Lincoln lines;' fourtooth ewes, 153. 3d. to 15s. 6d.; six-tooth j ewes, 12s. 9d.; fat ewos, 14s. 6d.; two-tooth wethers, 12s. 9d. to'l4s.; four-tooth wethers, \ 14s. 4d. to 15s. At Stratford, , "on Tuesday, for my .fortnightly sale and sheep fair (combined), both cattle and sheep were yarded in excess of advertised numbers. The inquiry in the cattle yards was Black for most classes. Jcrsey-flolstcln weaners were inquired for, and tho demand for good weaners was better. Prices realised were:—Weaners, from £1 15s. to £1 IBs.; ■mall, £1 Bs. to £1 10s.; choice line of Jersey weaners, £3 25.; 20-month heifers in calf, £4 7s. to £4 136. for well-grown lines; hulls, from £3 Its. to £7.105.; aged cows, £1 2s. 6d. to £1 18s.; store cows, £2 12s. 6d. to £3 155.; forward cows, £4 75." fid. to £4 155.; fat cows, from £5 ss. to £6 ss. In tho flhecpyarde, the inquiry was better, and a good proportion was clea.Tcd. A good lino of 1300 six-tooth wcthero (forward), realised 15s. 9d. At Stony Itivor yards, on Wednesday, I had a fair entry and attendance.
