Mr. Thomas Churchward forwarded his resignation to tho chairman as secretary 'of tho Wellington Bowling Centre. He explained that he had been compolled to take.this course owing to business matters. lt.Wiis just possible that he would have to» leave Wellington shortly. Mr. Churchward then withdrew from the meeting, whilst tho delegates discussed the matter. Mr. E. J. Hill moved that. Mr. Churchward's resignation be accepted with extreme regret. ... , The motion Was seconded by Mr. Hueston, and carried." . , ,' • Mr.; Hill said that 'something should.be done iih recognitioh of Mr. Churchward's valutd eerviees. (Hear, hear.) "Mr. Churchward had been the ■ life and soul of the centre, for some considerable time, and he had given a very great amount of time, to matters connected, with bowls. He proposed that a substantial presentation be made to Mr. Churchward. .Mr.'T. S. Powell seconded that proposal. Mr. Hueston said that Mr. Churchward had been responsible'for the centre's present position.
