: Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Limited, :report on the Masterton'Rain Fair, held on Thursday and Friday last:—We submitted an average entry of various bveeds on the whole of very much better qunlity than in previous, years. On tho first, day. (Thursday),.,Lihcolns and Suith-, downs .wero offered,; and .the Romneys. Shropsliircs, anil Leicesters .were offered on the second day. .Competition for. .nil breeds-..was spirited for-good sheep, but inferior; sorts (of which wo offered veryfew) were neglected.' It was again demon, strated, that Ma?tcrton is not a place to ilisp6.=o of .secojul-class sheep, while, on the-other hand, it is recognised it is'the best market inHhe Dominion for sheep of .-(food qualitv. Buyers from'Hnwkc's Baj-, Wniknto, Blenheim, and other parts Wore present. ■ In .stud. Lincoln.*, we.sold on behalf ofjrr. Wm. 'Perry, of, ''Penrose," a shearling sheep for 39 guineas to Mr.. Dalrymple, Rangitikei,'which was the lop price for Lincolns at the fair. Others, on behalf of tho same vendor, made 10 to 18 guineas. We sold five studs, en .behalf of Mr. Duncan M'Gregnr, one at 11, two at in, and one at 9 guineas. On behalf of Hie estate ofi tho Into' Mr. Duncan M'Grcgor, we fold due at 11.', one at 10,' and two at 9, guineas. In llqcks, wo sold as -follow:—On account of tho estate of tho lato D. In Romnny studs we offered four on hehalf of Riddiford and Co., which elicited very kean competition, ono sheep being sold to Mr. nolmes Warren, Pirinoa, at ,100 guineas, after ■ animated bidding, which elicited considerable applause. The other sheep wero purdhased by Messrs. i Harold Bennett. 27 guineas: Percy Bros., ,22 guineas; mill Mr. .7. M'Gregor, jnnr., .19 guineas. On behalf of Mr. OK' R. Rykcs, ..TO,sold onn at 34 guineas to Messrs Macintosh and Co.', as agents, nnd one to Mtj Alex. M'Kay at eiiincas. Other sales; wore on behalf of Mr. OK E. Allen, 15 guineas, and Mr. E. J. Wilson.
